Opera Max VPN was first launched in 2016, which was welcomed globally by alot of users.

In 2017, the app hits a million downloads but tOK everybody's surprise, the app was removed as opera stopped support for it.

Now Opera Max VPN is back as Samsung Max. This means it has been replaced and now available on Playstore for download.

The new app now has a redesign, so it looks different. The problem is that Samsung Max is not available for everyone.

Meanwhile, it seems that Samsung Max is exclusively for Samsung phones because i got error message such as "your device is not supported for this version" after trying to install it on non Samsung devices like Infinix, Tecno and iTel.

Samsung says that Samsung Max is offered “as an exclusive and unique service that sets Samsung devices apart from the rest of the smartphone market.” It is specifically targeted at their mid-range line-up.

Opera announced that it was discontinuing the app because it “had a substantially different value proposition than our browser products, and represented a different focus for Opera.” So, the company stopped further development work on the mobile VPN and removed it from the Google Play store’s catalogue. However, the service remained intact for those who already had it installed on their devices.

Interestingly, now that Samsung has taken over Opera Max, Samsung users who already had the app installed in their phone will receive an update to update theirs.

Samsung says its new Max mobile VPN will be preloaded on all Galaxy A and Galaxy J series smartphones in select countries. These include: India, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.

Apart from the above mentioned Galaxy phones, other Samsung users who would like to use the app can download it from
Google Playstore
or via Galaxy Apps stores.
